Product JSON-LD Example

This page is an example of Schema.org Structured Data for Products.

Use this as a template to build JSON-LD markup for your eCommerce website’s product pages.

Developers and digital marketers should be using structured data liberally in marking up their product pages. Google themselves have created a video detailing the importance of implementing product markup for eCommerce websites. The following is a basic JSON-LD template from which to build your own product markup with reviews:

{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "Product",
"aggregateRating": {
"@type": "AggregateRating",
"ratingValue": "4",
"bestRating": "5",
"worstRating": "1",
"reviewCount": "2"
},
"description":"This page is built as example for those learning to implement proper Product JSON-LD.",
"name": "Nate On A Walk Product Example",
"image": "https://nateonawalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/product-schema.jpg",
"offers": {
"@type": "Offer",
"availability": "http://schema.org/InStock",
"price": "99.99",
"priceCurrency": "USD",
"image": "https://nateonawalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/product-schema.jpg"
},
"review": [
{
"@type": "Review",
"author": "Jim",
"datePublished": "2017-01-06T03:37:40Z",
"reviewBody": "This is my favorite product yet! Thanks Nate for the example products and reviews.",
"name": "So awesome!!!",
"reviewRating": {
"@type": "Rating",
"bestRating": "5",
"ratingValue": "5",
"worstRating": "1"
}
},
{
"@type": "Review",
"author": "steve",
"datePublished": "2017-02-07T03:36:03Z",
"reviewBody": "Hate this product. Can't believe you put a fidget spinner in the header image. Sad.",
"name": "Very flattering",
"reviewRating": {
"@type": "Rating",
"bestRating": "5",
"ratingValue": "3",
"worstRating": "1"
}
}
]
}

Here is an example of the very same JSON-LD blob without reviews included.

{
"@context": "https://schema.org",
"@type": "Product",
"description":"This page is built as example for those learning to implement proper Product JSON-LD.",
"name": "Nate On A Walk Product Example",
"image": "https://nateonawalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/product-schema.jpg",
"offers": {
"@type": "Offer",
"availability": "http://schema.org/InStock",
"price": "99.99",
"priceCurrency": "USD",
"image": "https://nateonawalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/product-schema.jpg"
}
}

This page itself has live product JSON-LD installed in the source code.

Visit Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool to see the live results:

If properly installed, here is what the result could look like in Google’s search results:

Also, a reminder: for rich snippets to appear in search results (like the stars, price, and availability indicator), there must be reviews and other meta data visibly present on the page.
